Headteacher's Welcome
I am immensely proud to be Headteacher of our small, family orientated school. As a Head I do, of course, strive for academic excellence, but I firmly believe that school should be more than that. It should be about discovery and opportunity, about respect, reliability and resilience. Our children are hardworking and enthusiastic about their learning but they are also friendly and caring and value other peoples' achievements as well as their own. We are very much a team at Hatch Ride – parents, governors and staff working together to give the children the best chances we can.
2011/12 was another busy and successful year for us. As well as our usual trips and activities we celebrated World Book Day with “Dahlicious Week” which included a whole school trip to The Roald Dahl Museum culminated in the whole school putting on a Play In a Day of Mr Dahl’s Cinderella. We celebrated the Olympics with our own Olympic Week – our Olympic Parade was a sight to behold! We ended the year with another excellent set of results and were very proud of how hard the children worked.
This year we will be continuing our journey towards becoming a Forest School as we really want to make the most of our lovely grounds. Our outdoor classroom will be built in the very near future and we hope to complete the pond area by the end of this year.
Do come and visit us at Hatch Ride – we just love the chance to show off our school.
