Varied Menu of Activities
Homework Club – is available to all students until 4.30pm each evening. Mrs Phillips, the College librarian is available to assist students in the Library.
Study Support
Study Centre – The Study Centre is the area used by the Curriculum Support Team. Students can use computers, seek advice or work independently.
Sanctuary – Is a lunchtime club where Year 7 students can make friends in a safe and supervised environment.
Skills 4 Us – Skills 4 Us is a basic skills programme to further out students skills.
Feel Good Club – Staff are invited to refer students they feel will benefit. Generally they are students who are lacking in confidence and find it difficult to make friends. The students attend for a term (6 weeks) and participate in craft activities and confidence building games.
Red Cross Peer Mentoring
The red Cross peer mentoring has been running since 2008 and has been offered to all year 10 students. There are a limited number of places. The participants are trained intensively in First Aid and are also trained to teach first aid. Students participate in a peer mentoring programme and in events and weekends away with the Red Cross.
Summer School - New Year 7 students have the opportunity to attend Summer School during the summer holidays. Summer school allows new students an informal opportunity to make new friend, find their way around the College and participate in fun activities over three or four days. Summer school is usually held during the last week of August.
Easter Revision – Year 11 students have the opportunity to attend subject revision classes facilitated by class teachers during the Easter holidays.
One2One Tuition – Targeted students in KS3 are offered the opportunity to have one to one tuition with a member of staff and to follow a programme of ten weekly sessions to focus their learning in specific subjects.
‘Magical Nations’ - Targeted students from a diverse mix of cultures and ethnicity attend weekly sessions after school, to participate in various activities. Leading to a showcase finale to which parents are invited.
Sport – A varied menu of sporting activities are available to students. Please follow the extra curricular activities link.
Music Tuition – The College has links with music tutors for students to access individual or group music tuition in school.
Dance and Drama – A varied menu of Dance and Drams activities are available to students. Please follow the extra curricular activities link.
Arts and Crafts – A varied menu of Arts and Crafts activities are available to students. Please follow the extra curricular activities link.
Business Enterprise – 6th Form students arrange various activities for staff and students to participate in. Fund raising activities this year have included a Halloween Disco, DTC Talent Show, Sports Relief all have raised money for various charities.
