Unit 4 : Controlled Assessment

This is social history, where we look at the lives and attitudes of ordinary people.  We will cover the
experiences of immigrants to Britain, the changing lives of women, and the development of more tolerant attitudes towards sex.  We will also look at the idea that the 1960s was a 'swinging' time and consider the different ways it has been represented.

The Controlled Assessment is the coursework part of the GCSE.  You will study Britain 1955-70 and write up the final section of your work under controlled conditions in the classroom.  This is a way of making sure it is all your own work but it is not a test, you are allowed to bring in a plan and some notes.
