In term 3 our topic was Journeys. We learnt about all of the different transport we can use to make journeys. Our Talk for Writing story was Handa's Surprise which we have learnt very well. The story helped us to think about healthy food and we learnt some new names for animals and fruit. In Reception 2 we enjoyed tasting all of the different fruits from Handa's basket. We also celebrated the Chinese New Year of the snake and enjoyed learning and acting out the Race of the Animals story.
As a whole school we introduced our 3 school rules, be safe, be respectful and be ready to learn. In Reception we learnt a song to help us remember our rules.
Be respectful, be respectful and be safe, and be safe, be ready to learn, be ready to learn, moving on up, moving on up. (Tune: Frere Jacque)
In term 2 our topic was Light and Dark. We learnt about day and night and also the different animals that are awake in the night and day. Our Talk for Writing story was Peace at Last, the children enjoyed acting out the story in our role play area of Mr Bears garden.
