Welcome to Year Five.The teachers in Year 5 are Mr Soares-Mistry (5sm) and Miss Nicholas (5n). The classroom LSA's are Miss Jones, Miss Wilkins, Mrs Goddard, Mrs Grant and Miss Anderson.
Meet Tribe Generation Genius
We are a loud, lively tribe who thrive on practical activities and outdoor learning. Since September we have been building our tribe values and the schools 8 2b gr8 traits. Our tribe has three very important rules: we strive for excellence, believe in respect and believe in the importance of friendship.
We are determined to make good progress this year across all subjects and have all written a goal we want to achieve. The tribe took a vote and decided that we should bury these goals in the ground with current news stories and our likes and dislikes so that they could not be changed. We drew maps and then buried our time capsule in the school grounds. We are going to dig up our capsule in July to see how successful we have been and whether our likes and dislikes have changed!

During term 1 we dressed up as what we want to be when we are older. Our tribe looked very mature that day with teachers, accountants, actors, dancers and BMXers. We even had a NASA astronaut in the class!

Last year our Year 5 took part in a science workshop run by URENCO.They took part in some fun and practical experiments based on the concept of 'separation' while learning about URENCO's business. An article was published in their Autumn 2012 news magazine. A pdf copy of the article can be found on your left.

Last term Year Five have been looking at the 1930's through a variety of media including film and image. Our display boards reflect some of the work that we have done.
We attempted to create an Art Deco style pictures by hand and by using Paint on the laptops.
