Parent Engagement Project

This Project runs for nine weeks and informs parents on what their children are learning at school as well as ways parents can engage with their children's learning and therefore aid their progress.

The nine workshops consist of literacy, mathematics and science. Each of these subjects are addressed in three week blocks. At the end of each three week block the children are invited to share practical activities with their parents.

Here are some quotes from parents who have already attended the project:

" I have learnt the methods and techniques used for teaching the children at school. I can now adapt my techniques to a similar standard. This has made it easier for my child to understand tasks at home."

" I now involve my child a lot more in normal day to day activities. When we go shopping, I now ask them to make a list, work out prices and amounts and telling the time. This project has helped me a lot in teaching my child and improving her progress."

"Must attend project! It's been really helpful in providing help and support to my child at home. It has taught me to be more patient, hold back sometimes in providing too much help and let my child be more independent and proud of his work."

" My child really looks forward to the practical sessions when we work together. He remembers so much and wants me to do similar activities with him at home."
