On Thursday 22nd March 2012 we had local celebrity chef, Alan Coxon, visit our school to open our lovely new kitchen. He stayed all day and cooked with every child in the school, making delicious recipes such as mango fool, cookies and curry. They were very yummy and we had lots of fun learning how to make them!

We have been learning about the rainforest during Autumn Term 2011 and so Class Three decided to raise money to help save the rainforest. We took part in an art activity and managed to cover a very long snake in coppers and spare change. Altogether we have raised £72.15 which is nearly enough to buy one whole acre of rainforest. This is very exciting because it means this part of the rainforest will be protected forever.

In January 2011 we recieved our Green Flag Eco Award which we have been working very hard to achieve. The Eco Club, along with Mrs Walker and Miss Ellis, have been making sure we all remember to switch off the lights, turn off the taps, compost our fruit waste, recycle our paper and much much more to ensure we were awarded our Green Flag.
We are now looking forward to displaying our HUGE flag somewhere in our school!

In February 2011 Class Two organised a Charity Day to raise money for Guyana. We asked everyone to bring in loose change in an attempt to cover a whole map of South America. We managed to cover it and raised nearly £90 for charity.
