Parent, Teacher and Friends Association

Welcome to the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association web page.  As parents of Pupils attending the Howard School you are automatically members of the PTFA.  We have one objective – to enhance the education and lives of our children. We do this by:

1.     Raising funds for school projects outside the normal school budget.

2.     Organising social functions and supporting school activities as required in order to develop the relationship between parents and school.

3.     Providing a forum for consultation between the Head Teacher and parents.

4.     Engaging in activities which support the school.

During each year we run a number of functions/events in order to raise funds for various projects. Any funds raised by these activities are divided between the various departments to provide additional resources to aid teaching and learning and improve the students’ environment.

Most of us on the PTFA Committee are in full or part-time employment, so the organisation of events is split among us with the support of many additional parents and staff helpers. We meet as a full committee about every six weeks and support each other at the events, subject to availability.

Whilst in its earliest stages our PTFA has already become an integral part of our School community and with the support of parents, teachers and friends of the school we hope to be able to provide the pupils of The Howard School with even more opportunities and benefits.
