St Anne’s Governing Body
As a Governing Body we are committed to contributing more effectively to monitoring and evaluating the school’s work. The key issues for us as a school are:
- Raising pupil’s attainment and continuing to accelerate their progress across the school.
- Increasing substantially the proportion of good or better teaching.
- Improving the effectiveness of leadership and management at all levels.
- Developing the prayer and liturgical life of the school.
- Improving and monitoring the learning environment.
The FGB is responsible for the overall monitoring and evaluation of these issues, whilst the sub-committees focus on the individual key themes.

We have 3 main roles
- Setting our school’s strategic direction
- Being a critical friend (monitoring, challenging, evaluating and supporting the school)
- Securing accountability
We meet as a Full Governing Body (FGB) 6 times a year. We work closely with the Head Teacher; we make decisions collectively as a team, often delegating decision making to committees, individual Governors or to the Head Teacher and conduct much of our business through committees.
Governors do not get involved in the day to day management of the school.
