Welcome to Year 6!

 Hello,
Thanks for logging onto our homepage.  Mr. Brackley, Mrs. Wellard and Mrs. Parker hope you find this useful and informative.  Our support staff in Year 6 are Mrs. Graham, Miss Wragg, Mrs. Hales, Mrs. Macdonald and Mrs. Stockey.  Mrs. Halls also teaches each week in the year group.

We are continuing, this term, our topic Water, Water Everywhere with a particular focus on pollution and the environment.  At the end of term our Design and Technology work will be investigating the structure of bridges  and constructing and testing them.

In addition we are still reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and some of our literacy is based on this book.  Can we remind you that you still need to read every night and write a monthly book review.

In maths we will focus on gathering, interpreting and presenting data, problem solving and investigations.  We hope you have all learned your basic maths facts as they will come in very useful in our number work.  In addition we are continuing our independent work in KMP.

Our PSHE this term focusses on keeping safe and the rights of the child, using the Miss Dorothy Dot.com programme.  Our RE is looking at how christians worship in different ways.

Please remember to have your PE kit in school at all times.  This term, we will be dancing learning how to play netball, tag rugby and hockey.  In Art we are studying how artists portray movement and our french lessons will focus on everyday conversations.  In Music we are practising our songs in preparation for our Christmas Assembly.

The final week of term will be very busy with our Christmas play at 11 o'clock on Monday, 17th December followed by our Christmas party that afternoon.
