THE PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF KATESGROVE PRIMARY SCHOOL
In response to increasing demand for primary school places in the central part of the borough, we propose to expand Katesgrove Primary School on its current site to three forms of entry (3FE), 90 children in each year. In September 2010, we started a third reception class, increasing the number of children in the Reception year from 60 to 90. Over the next seven years, we will continue to admit 90 children into the Reception year, and will continue to do so year on year until there are 90 pupils in each year group. This will mean that the school will be at its new capacity of 630 children in seven years time, by 2017. Our School Vision is: “To ensure our children enjoy learning, achieve their best, and are ready to cope in an ever-changing world”. These improvements focus on meeting our vision and we need your help to shape how our school will look in the future. The key aims of the development are: - To develop our school to accommodate three forms of entry.
- To improve first impressions of our school.
- To improve accessibility into and throughout our school.
- To enhance our school’s security and safeguarding.
- To enhance the Early Years outdoor teaching spaces.
- To maximise the use of our school’s outdoor spaces.
On 16th February 2011, an open evening was held at the school to show the latest designs in developing the school. To the left are attachments of what our school looks like now and how we would like to see the school develop. If you would like to comment on these plans please use the attached comment form link in the Katesgrove Development Project Manager box above.
