Sports Leadership at Tupton Hall
As a school we offer several Sports Leadership courses including -
Each of the above courses are offered as part of the KS4 or KS5 PE curriculum offer. Students are encouraged to utilise their leadership skills in a wide range of school and community sports clubs including trampolining, athletics, badminton, dance, football, basketball and netball. Students typically complete in excess of 10 hours voluntary sports leadership for each of the Level 1 courses, 20 hours for the Level 2 award and 40+ for the Level 3 course.
In recognition of our extensive work in this area, on 23rd March 2012 Sports Leaders UK awarded the school 'Leadership Academy Status'. This not only recognises their existing good practice, but also requires them to share their knowledge and understanding with other schools and academies.
David Savidge (National Development Manager & Regional Foundation Manager) presented the Headteacher and Director of Sport with an official plaque, to formally acknowledge this new status.
The school has recently worked with a local clothing supplier to develop a range of sportswear, for exclusive use by our qualified Sports Leaders.
We have developed a polo shirt, hooded sweatshirt and lightweight t-shirt. Further information is available from Mrs Neville (Director of Sport). Each of these items can be purchased from “Not Just T-Shirts” on Derby Road, Chesterfield. Orders can be taken either in the shop or via their website. http://www.notjusttshirts.co.uk/ |
