We in the English Department are proud of our consistent level of success across all Key Stages.  The last two years have been particularly successful.  In 2012, 69% of students achieved a Level 6 or above at the end of KS3.  In 2011 85% of candidates achieved A*/C in GCSE English Language, whilst in 2012 the figure edged up to 86%.  The figures for GCSE English Literature are even more encouraging.  In 2011 91% of candidates gained A*/C.  In 2012 this figure reached 93%.  This record of success is due to the hard work, persistence and dedication of staff and students alike.  We are also delighted to report that many of our GCSE students go on to replicate their success at A/S and A/2 English Language and English Literature.  An impressive 50% of all A2 Level English Language students and 60% of all A2 Level English Literature students achieved a grade B or above.
