At SJLHS we aim to work in cooperation with parents and students to create the best outcomes for individual students. We will invite parents into school regularly throughout the academic year to discuss their child’s progress. We encourage all parents to contact their child’s form tutor if they have any concerns in the first instance.
If a student is placed on the SEND register at SEN Support level we will invite parents into school to meet with the SENCo or one of the support team to develop a Pupil Passport. This will take place every six months. We will explore the strengths and difficulties of their child together and develop strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for the student at school. The Pupil Passport is shared with the student’s teachers. We encourage all students on the SEND register to be involved with this process.
For a few students that have a EHCP in addition to the Pupil Passport review we also hold an Annual Review of the EHCP which is monitored by the Local Education Authority.
We endeavour to keep parents informed of any changes and adjustments to support arrangements when necessary.
