Our curriculum reflects Archway’s Technology College status. Students take GCSE courses from a range which includes English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, Design Technology and a Modern Foreign Language. They also follow non-examination lessons in PE, Religious Studies and Personal, Social and Health Education, incorporating Careers guidance.
A consultation exercise between student, parents and tutor ensures that a more individualised curriculum is chosen which best reflects the student’s ability and aptitude. The following options are available: GCSEs in Art, Drama, Geography History, Media Studies, Music, PE and Religious Studies as well as vocational qualifications in Business, Health and Social Care, and ICT. In special circumstances a work-related curriculum may be planned for some Key Stage 4 students.
Head of years and tutors are available to provide advice and guidance throughout this crucial time. Please make sure you access this support.
Karen Empsall, the Key Stage 4 Learning mentor is also available to provide support in addressing the needs of children who require assistance in overcoming barriers.
