Introduction:
- Speaking German is a big advantage in business. German is the most important trading partner for almost all European, and many non-European Countries. It is also useful for tourism, science, and IT. Students who study German will learn translation skills, comprehension skills and conversation skills.
Key Stage 3:
- Students may choose German as their second foreign language in year 7. In years 7 to 9 the subject concentrates on building skills / techniques for GCSE and extending the range of vocabulary.
Key Stage 4:
The students will learn listening, reading, writing and speaking skills.
The topics for GCSE are:
- Personal and Social Life
- The Local Community
- The World of Work
- The Wider World
Key Stage 5:
As covers a range of topics, including media, film, sport, education, world of work. For A2, the students will cover politics, history, technology, and news report, social problems. In year 13 the students have the opportunity to go the Braunschweig for a week in spring for work experience.
