Following the heavy snowfall earlier this year and the possibility of severe weather again this winter, we have now developed a Winter Weather Management plan for Saint Sebastian’s.
In the event of bad weather the following will apply:
Ø In the event of a severe weather warning, parents will be informed of a possible closure and the communication procedures in place.
Ø A decision will be made as early as possible in the event of a closure and subject to a risk assessment being carried out.
Ø Communication will be made with parents and staff as soon as possible on the morning of the closure.
Ø Communication will be by e mail, updates on our website, and via the local radio (Heart FM, BBC Berkshire, Reading 107 – details below)
Ø Updates will be issued to parents daily, to inform them whether the school is open or closed.
Ø In the event of a partial opening, or early closure, information will be relayed as indicated above.
Ø Work for the children will be posted on the school website where possible.
This information can also be found on our website.
Yours sincerely,
Colin Rouse
Headteacher
