Hello and welcome to the English department.

Weydon's English department is a vibrant and enthusiastic faculty. The enthusiasm of the staff matches the excellent A*-C results our students have achieved recently.

Each year group in Key Stage 3 follows a fully-developed Scheme of Work, which focuses on the National Curriculum whilst at the same time leaving flexibility for classes to work to their particular strengths and weaknesses.

At the beginning of Year 7 Students are taught in their mixed ability Tutor groups. At the beginning of the spring term students are placed in pathways; this allows the staff and students the opportunity to best explore the specific needs of an individual and/or class. Progress tests throughout Year 7 and 8 allows us to track the progress of students and move groups where necessary.

The programme of Study for Year 8 is in the KS3 English Folder.
