Archway School

Archway School > Music at Archway School > Year 9 Music
Welcome to the final year of the KS3 Music course!

The year starts with a quick revision of all the elements of music. These will then be consolidated upon during the rest of the year when we learn about Chords, harmony and blues, Theme and Variations, Musical Charades and finally Music for films and adverts.

Chords, harmony and blues builds upon the work you did in Years 7 and 8 on notation and World Music in a fun and practical way. This unit will really stretch your understanding as well as develop your performing skills!

Composing skills are the focus in the unit Theme and Variations where you will use lots of familiar tunes to create original works.

The Summer terms are spent doing lots of fun activities in Musical Charades and Music for films and adverts, where you will learn how to combine your English, Drama and Music skills when creating an advert for a product / service of your choice.
