At Battle and Langton, we believe that attending extra curricular activities can be benefitial to children in many ways including:

§ Increased and enhanced self-esteem

§ Better attitudes to school, to education and learning more generally

§ Increased motivation and commitment to the school and to learning

§ Reducing social exclusion (feeling part of a club)

§ Raising achievement

§ Good attendance records

§ A chance to succeed (especially important for pupils who feel that they’re failing in the classroom)

§ Opportunities to develop relationships with different peers and new adults
