SCHOOL GOVERNORS

 

The Governing Body and the Headteacher work together in a balanced partnership. The Governing Body has the general responsibility for the effective management of the school. The Headteacher makes the detailed decisions about the day-to-day running of the school and supervises the teaching and non-teaching staff. The following is a summary of the Governing Body’s duties:

-          publishing the aims and development plans of the school;

-          ensuring that the school’s curriculum complies with the national legislation and  provides a broad and balanced programme for all pupils;

-          determining a policy on discipline;

-          planning and managing the school’s budget;

-          appointing and dismissing staff;

-          maintaining links with the local community and the local authority;

-          ensuring compliance with any directives issued by the DCSF regarding health & safety at the school;

-          producing the school profile annually;

 

The Governors of this school represent various elements of the local community and are appointed for a four year term of office. They meet regularly to discuss the organisation and management of the school. All Governors can be contacted via the school.
