This week we will be using Explanation Text to record a scientific experiment to show how plants drink!
We will also be looking at fractions!

'Explanation Texts' are similar to Information Texts but explain a process, often in a step-by-step, sequential manner.
We will be planting some vegetables, herbs or seeds in the next couple of days. We will write some 'explanation texts' so people know how to do it!
Explanation texts usually use words called connectives that explain things in order, one after another.
Some of the connectives you might find are:
- Firstly
- Next
- Then
- After that
- Meanwhile

Eventually
-
Later
-
Finally
Other connectives explain how things work or why things happen, such as:
