MFL AT KEY STAGE 3
Key stage 3 exemplification and teacher assessment: message from QCDA
National exemplification materials for the Foundation Subjects including Modern Foreign Languages (French , German and Spanish ) at key stage 3 were published on the National Curriculum website in July 2010.These materials provide teachers, as well as parents and pupils with annotated collections of evidence, gathered from individual pupils, which are judged to represent different levels of attainment in relation to national standards and in the context of the current secondary curriculum, introduced in 2008. Each exemplification of standards file includes: examples of students' classroom work assessed against national standards; other supporting evidence; a detailed commentary; and an overall assessment judgement on the students' work. They are a resource and reference point for teachers:
-
when assessing pupils' work in relation to national standards
-
when thinking about next steps for students
-
for training and professional development purposes
