Calthorpe Park School > Curriculum > History

History is a fascinating subject. Understanding our history helps us to understand our lives today. The History Department at Calthorpe Park School aims to produce lively and open-minded students who will appreciate the complexity of the world they live in by studying the past.

The studying of History is central to the development of students’ understanding of their place in the world. Pupils learn about the diversity of human experience, both today and in the past, in their local area and further afield. They learn how to research, sift through and evaluate information and evidence and then present their own point of view - skills that are important for adult life.

We recognise our responsibility to provide a high quality education for all of our students. Calthorpe Park School history department is committed to providing a varied learning experience through the use of a variety of teaching techniques.
