Tupton Hall School celebrates its Re-Designation!
Tupton Hall School has been successfully re-designated as a Specialist Sports College with ICT for a further 3 years and as such plays an important role in developing both areas in terms of academic standards and Community involvement. Benefits for students and the wider community have already been very evident and we hope to continue to improve and widen the scope of courses and activities offered.
Our Specialist Status has allowed us to offer a wider range of courses to our students, improve facilities and resources for students, including a new ‘Spinning Lounge’ with over 20 bikes. We provide summer schools for our gifted and talented performers, as well as community students, which have received a large uptake.
The PE department offers a wide range of extracurricular activities that cater for a wide range of tastes, including the likes horse riding and golf. Regular communication through the student voice ensures opportunity meets demand.
The recommendation is that the school is re-designated, for several reasons; PE provision is broad, innovative and growing within and beyond the curriculum. The quality of specialist PE teaching observed, in Ofsted terms, was graded as Good with elements of Outstanding. The specialism is contributing to the improvement in student-outcomes across the curriculum. Work with partner schools, the local community and wider outreach work is continually improving. The school is also able to accurately diagnose areas for development and appropriate planning put in place
Tupton Hall staff are delighted with their achievements and are looking forward to the next 3 years of developments.
