The Making of the United Kingdom (approx 1½ terms) This unit covers some of the main themes in the dvelopment of the United Kingdom from c.1500 to c.1750. Topics include, the annexation of Wales, Henry VIII's religious reforms, Puritans, Mary Tudor, Charles I and the English Civil War, James II, the Glorious Revolution. An end-of-unit test forms part of the assessment for this unit.
The Industrial Revolution (approx 1½ terms) The unit starts with an overview of the doemstic system around 1700. It includes topics such as new innovations in textile production, the growth of factory towns, child labour, the transport revolution.
