I am very proud to be Headteacher of Ringmer Primary School.
Our school is part of a growing and thriving village community. Our aim is to offer a stimulating curriculum with key skills being delivered through varied and exciting learning journeys. We believe that children work best when they are happy and secure and feel that their achievements will be recognised: this philosophy can be seen in action in our ‘Funky Friday’ assembly when effort and achievement is celebrated in style!
Children at Ringmer Primary School receive a balanced and broad education and are taught by committed and hard-working teachers and support staff. There is an expectation that every child will make good progress and we work hard to support children who need extra help or challenge. We attach huge importance to positive relationships and open communications between families and school as can be seen in our new style newsletter which you can access through this website.
We have high expectations of behaviour in our school and have a simple but clear set of Golden Rules which we expect every child to follow.
In recent years we have achieved standards marks including Active Mark, Healthy Schools, the Sustainable School Bronze Award and Dyslexia Friendly Status.
In 2008 Ofsted judged Ringmer to be a good school with many outstanding aspects. However in 2012 the school was judged only ‘Satisfactory’ since when there have been many changes including a drive on phonics, spelling and reading skills; the appointment of a new Headteacher; and other important changes in the organisation and leadership of the school. We are currently working hard to achieve the best standards of teaching more consistently and also to improve the school environment indoors and out. Our ambition is quickly to be recognised once again as a ‘Good’ school and then to work towards the goal of being seen as ‘Outstanding’. We are on an exciting journey!
Our website is currently being redesigned and will be relaunched
during the current academic year. I am sure you are going to love
the new website! In the meantime I am sure you will be able to
find out lots of information about the school by browsing the
current site. Of course you will be very welcome to come and see
the school – the school office will be happy to make an appointment
when I can meet you and show you round.
Thank you for your interest in Ringmer Primary School.
Yours,
Dave Evans
