The CILIP Carnegie & Kate Greenaway Children's Book Awards 2008 Great fun was had by all at both events! A group of our Year 9 students have brilliantly performed in front of other schools’ groups at St Luke's College in Exeter for this year’s Carnegie Shadowing, championing the book “Finding Violet Park” by Jenny Valentine. Their presentation was the most acclaimed recieving special praise by the visiting author. A special event was also organised by the College Libraries in order to celebrate the Greenaway Shadowing. A group of year 7 and 8 pupils from Exmouth Community College joined by pupils from Marpool and St. Josephs Primary Schools gave presentations based on their favourite shortlisted illustration book. Certificates and prizes were finally awarded by Mr Alexander to everybody’s delight.
