Current Governors

The Bulmershe School Governors

The School’s Instrument of Government sets out the composition of the Governing Body.  At present there are 19 Governors: six elected Parent Governors; four Governors appointed by Wokingham Borough Council and four from within the local Community.  There is one Sponsor Governor, put forward by our local sports partner, the Woodley Hammers Football Club and three Staff Governors.

The dates given below are when the governor's period of service ends. After this Parent Governors must seek re-election if they wish to continue on the Governing Body

Community Governors
Community Governors are usually volunteers from the local community who put themselves forward.  The Governing Body appoints them for a period of four years.  They can continue to serve, if they wish to and the Governing Body agrees, for further four-year periods.  The end dates of their current periods are shown below.

LA Appointed Governors

The Local Authority (Wokingham Borough Council) appoints people who volunteer for service on a School Governing Body. They can continue to serve, if they wish to and the Local Authority and the Governing Body agrees, for further four-year periods.  The end dates of their current periods are shown below.

Sponsor Governor

Sponsor Governors can be put forward by organisations in partnership with the School.  They are appointed by the Governing Body and serve for four years.  They can be reappointed for further periods of service as long as the parties agree. Our sponsor is The Bulmershe School's sports partner, Woodley Hammers Football Club.

Staff Governors
Staff Governors are elected by the school staff.  They serve for four years and need to be re-elected if they wish to continue for another term of office.  There are three staff governors, two elected by the teaching staff and one elected by the associate staff.  The date when their period of officie ends is given in brackets. After this they must seek re-election if they wish to continue. They are:
From the teaching staff: Mr Amjad Ali (November 2013) and Miss Kelly Lewis (June 2015). From the Associate Staff: Mrs Jackie Snipp (September 2015).
Ms Emma Reynolds, the Headteacher, is also a full member of the Governing Body

Associate Governors
Associate Governors can be appointed by the Governing Body to help it in its work. They can contribute to meetings but have no voting rights. 
The Governing Body has appointed Mr Douglas Findlay as an Associate Governor. The Deputy Headteachers, Finance Officer and Premises Manager are also Associate Governors.
