The school governors are dedicted members of the community who take an active role in running Swingate Infant and Nursery School. ' The primary objective of the Governing body of Swingate Infants and Nursery School is to ensure that each child at the school gets the best possible education in a safe, happy and rewarding environment. Our Governing Body consists of Parent Governors, Community Governors, LEA Governors and Staff Governors, each of whom uses knowledge of the school and knowledge and expences from beyond the school in the furtherence of our aims. We are certain that Swingate Infants and Nursery School provides your children with the best possible start along their educational paths.' D. Clay Chair of Governors Other Duties Include To determine the aims and overall conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement; To be a critical friend of the Head Teacher; To set and review staffing levels and structures; To appoint Head Teachers and Deputy Head Teachers; To set and agree school budgets; Ensure policies are set and adhered to; Monitor Health and Safety and management of the premises.
