The school welcomes contact with parents as we feel education is very much a shared responsibility with parents and teachers working together for the benefit of the child. Fortnightly newsletters, curriculum letters and the school notice board can be referred to about events and routine information. Time to share evenings and parents’ evenings are opportunities for parents to look at children’s work and discuss progress and any problems with teachers. At parents’ evenings, held twice each academic year, teachers will indicate the next steps of learning for a child by sharing targets with parents.
If at any time there are problems to be resolved or questions to be answered parents are encouraged to approach school, telephone or make an appointment to see a teacher. Any messages can be communicated at the end of the day when teachers have finished teaching or at the start of the day when a member of staff on duty will relay the message – alternatively a message can be left at the office at 8.45 am. |
