This term our topic is 'Dinosaur Island'. Through this topic we will:-
  • Find out about the Isle of Wight and its link with dinosaurs in the past. Look at dinosaur fossils and maps to help us understand what our Island was like long ago.
  •  Design and make our own dinosaur pictures/models/jigsaws and biscuits. Create dinosaur music and join in with a variety of new songs. Learn a dance and a song to perform in the school play.
  •  Develop our collaborative skills by working together to make a group dinosaur puzzle and biscuits which can be shared with others. Investigate dinosaurs, find out about the past through fossils, books and the internet. Use technology to make our dinosaurs move. Search for dinosaur bones in the sand. Explore magnets and water and investigate the wonder of bubbles.
  •  Develop games and athletic skills in preparation for Sports day.  Learn and practice a dance routine for the school show.
  • Learn about the importance of looking after ourselves. Talk about healthy eating, looking after our teeth, and how sleep and exercise help to keep us healthy.
  •  Explore changes in our own lives and those of other people. Think about how we are the same/different from other people and respect differences. Discuss how we can care for our Island, keeping it a special place.
