A message from Mr Prebble - November 2012

The school has been judged a 3, ‘Required to improve’, which was formerly known as ‘Satisfactory’. The new framework, which has been in place since 1 September 2012, is more challenging and demanding of schools than previous frameworks. Our data is showing that our children in both KS1 and KS2 performed above the national average last year; however this is only part of the picture, as all judgements are measured over time and based on data from the past 3 years. I feel the Lead Inspector has captured an accurate assessment of the school and the report reflects our current position positively and fairly. Rivermead is on a journey, which the inspection team understood, but more importantly they could see the direction the school is moving in. They recognised that the changes and initiatives we have introduced are already making a difference and that we have the right systems and procedures in place for continued improvement.
