Currently we have four full-time and three part-time PE staff, all teaching the subject from Year 7 through to Year 11. Students are taught the skills required to perform at a high level in a range of sports, but focus is also given to the development of teamwork and cooperation. The department boasts excellent facilities which include:
-
a gym with a range of apparatus
-
a multi-purpose sportshall comprising 6 trampolines
-
an artificial floodlit astroturf
-
a recently built Tennis Pavilion with 5 hard surface tennis courts, two being floodlit

The department offers students of all abilities the opportunity to participate in competitive sport, with mass participation via inter-house competitions through to elite performances through entry to local, county and national competitions and is supported by an extensive extra curricular programme that takes place before, during, and after school.
The department also encourages students to achieve their potential through the pathway partnerships with local sports clubs and the recognition of talent through the Gifted and Talented PE programme.
