Music

Music is a major cultural feature that provides intellectual and aesthetic stimulation in other words music is a source of pleasure and an important part of our leisure activities. In music you will learn about music for adverts, film, radio, television and many more, in a wider context about different types of music from around the world. Lessons provide the necessary skills to listen. Appraise, read and create music. You will have the opportunity to work as a class or as a team or as an individual and through music express thoughts and feelings that are perhaps more meaningful than by other forms of communication.

To put it more simply, you will learn how and why music plays an important part in every day life and about its impact on society.

It is our belief that the study of Music will help students become effective communicators who strive to achieve academic and personal success.  Our mission is to provide a supportive and challenging environment in which students can foster the skills they will need throughout their lives.  Music will enable students to explore, analyse and evaluate the world of music with an objective, mature and, above all, informed opinion

  • Perform with others.
