In order to support students with time management, this is the schedule we suggest they use to complete tasks which have been set. In many cases students will be involved in completing an extended piece of work which will be on-going and so does not represent when the work is to be set.  The student’s planner will provide a definitive guide as to when the work must be completed. Preparation for the Key Stage 3  tests in Science will also have an impact on the schedule and, at times when Home Study is quiet, should be the student's priority. KS3 Bitesize program and purchasing a KS3 Science revision guide and workbook will provide lots of practice for your children. Due to the extended nature of the Home Study, it is hard to predict on a regular basis how much time should be denoted each evening but at least 45 minutes of either Home Study or revision should be completed each day. Drama, Music, and PE do not appear on the schedule but they may set work as and when appropriate to their subject and the syllabus.

Year 9 Home Study is currently under review; from September there will be further changes due to the new curriculum.

Opening the subject documents

All of the documents provided are either in a Microsoft Word format or as .pdf files. If you are having difficulties opening the files directly from the web page, then you may need to save the files to your hard drive first of all and then open them from there.

To save to your hard drive, right click on the desired file that you wish to save and left click on “Save target as”. You will then be asked to choose where you wish to save the file. You should also take this opportunity to rename the file.

If you are still having difficulties downloading files please contact the school.
