The John Warner School Model United Nations - 6th March 2010
Your school is invited to participate in the first John Warner School Model United Nations (JWSMUN) on the Saturday, 6th March 2010. The conference is a single day event being held at The John Warner School, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, during which students are expected to compose and debate a piece of legislation following the format of the United Nations. For those of you not familiar with the format of MUN it is explained in greater detail in the downloadable documents available below.

The John Warner School is conveniently located twenty minutes from junction 25 of the M25. We are also thirty five minutes by train from the centre of London arriving at Broxbourne station.

Each School will need to put forward a delegation of four pupils (five for Security Council Countries).  There will be a charge of £20 per delegate (pupil). This will include a two course cooked lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments and transportation to and from Broxbourne station if required.

There is a strict dress code at JWSMUN which consists of suits for boys, with a tie to be worn at all times, and smart office wear for girls.

As this is the first time we have run the JWSMUN please can you email us details of how many delegations that you intend to bring with you no later than 15th October 2009 [jws-modelun@johnwarner.herts.sch.uk]. This will ensure that we have enough interest to make it feasible to run the day? Please use the downloadable application sheet.  http://www.school-portal.co.uk/GroupHomepage.asp?GroupID=832856. Furthermore, if you wish to travel by train we will run a mini bus shuttle service from Broxbourne train station although we need to know as soon as possible if you require this service.

Payment for fees should be by cheque and made payable to The John Warner School.   All fees, application and country selection forms need to be returned by 1st November 2009.

If you wish for further information - or if your school would like to be invited - please do not hesitate to contact us.
