Already the older members have been involved in the Switch it Off campaign (November - December 2011) where they have been encouraging the whole school to be energy conscious.
January 2012 - Our efforts are making a small difference - keep up the amazing effort everyone.
On the same theme, a competition to design an eye-catching logo is well underway. The logo is to remind us to close doors and keep energy inside the building. The winner will see their idea all over the school.
Well done to Lizzie in Year 5 who won this competition.
Additionally, we have set up rotas for compost duties and cleaning duties. Did you spot the photo showing Freddie the Frog having a wash?

Preparing for the Eco Stall at the Christmas Tea Party!
2010 - 2011
What an amazing day we had on Friday 17th June - our very own eco-day.
Some of the photographs of the fashion show are available by
selecting the link on the left. The eco-notice board now shows some
of the activities we engaged in on the day.
(Watch out for a detailed report in this week's newsletter.) 20.06.11
We have worked together to recycle this frog bin. It was discovered recently in the school's boiler room. Now it will be in the playground, to keep our school litter free. 8.3.11
The Committee 2010 - 2011
We are determined to carry on with the good work of last year's committee, this year we are determined to achieve our fourth green flag which will be a great award for our eco friendly school. The photos show us hard at work in a meeting with our eco-buddies.
Already this term we have seen the installation of an exciting new eco area on the back playground. It has a lockable pond, a large composting area, an investigation table and a wormery. The postman delivered 1 kg of live composting worms this week (Nov 9th) and we have been very busy setting up the wormery. Please click here to get some worm keeping tips.
Morrison's Vouchers: A huge thank you to everyone who sent in these vouchers. We collected an amazing total of 7,500 vouchers. This is a record for our school. We have been able to place an order for a large variety of gardening tools, including child-size forks and spades, increase our stock of gardening gloves and hand tools and some seeds. Morrison's were so impressed with our total collection, that they have also donated some free fruit trees for the school grounds. (23.11.2010)
