Crown Meadow First School > Noticeboards

Every child is an individual and children all learn at different rates with differing learning styles. At Crown Meadow Fisrt School and Nursery we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum within a happy, secure and stimulating environment where every child's effort is valued and full potential can be realised.

There may be a time in childs schooling when individual needs become apparent. These needs are catered for by a differentiated curriculum which will involve the preparation of tasks and teaching methods to suit each child's ability. We advocate an "inclusive" approach for children with special educational needs, enabling them to access the full breadth of the curriculum within their class and peers.

We recognise that some children have ability or talent beyond their peer group and as a consequence require a curriculum with a greater degree of challenge and complexity than that of the rest of the class. This is achieved within an age appropriate classroom with the use of open questioning, problem solving and activities which promote the higher order thinking skills to develop existing knowledge, skills and understanding.
