School Lunches

The school caters for hot lunches cooked on site by Class Catering, who source local produce and provide healthy nutritional meals.  Children select from a four- week menu and pay for meals weekly.  Menus are issued every Tuesday via the newsletter. If you are in receipt of benefits you may be entitled to free school meals, please contact the secretary in the school office who has further information.

Pupils may choose to bring a healthy packed lunch, which may include a drink, although water is provided.

Break Time Snack

The children may bring one item for a small snack for morning break. This could be a piece of fruit or a healthy snack. Children in Key Stage 1 and Reception class receive a piece of fruit through the ‘Fruit for Schools’ Scheme. We discourage children from bringing sweets to school as a break time snack.

Drinks

We encourage children to bring water to school and are able to take water bottles into classrooms. Please note that all bottles should be plastic. Water fountains are available for use by everyone. Fizzy drinks are not allowed in school.

Milk

Milk is available at morning break in one third of a pint cartons to those pupils who wish to have a drink and are prepared to pay the daily rate of 14p.  However, the under 5's and children entitled to Free School Meals receive free school milk.

Parents are sent a slip from the school office informing them of the cost for milk for the next term and are requested to pay that amount in advance.

Supervision of Pupils

Children will be supervised on the playground from 8.40.am. by a member of staff. Pupils should not arrive at school before this time unless attending the SOS club.

Teaching staff or Learning Support Assistants supervise morning and afternoon breaks (wherever appropriate) whilst at lunchtime pupils are supervised by the Lunch Time Assistants employed to look after them.
