Something Special

This half term we will be starting to introduce the phase 2 sounds using jolly phonics. We will be encouraging good pencil grip through fine motor control activities like threading, peg boards, use of tweezers etc.

We will be using the sounds we have learnt to make simple two and three letter words as well as introducing some tricky words. 

We will also be reading lots of stories to encourage a love of reading and books.

  Numeracy

In mathematics this term we will be learning about pattern and 2D shape and their properties. 

We will be playing lots of number games and singing number rhymes.

 Topics

Our topic for this half term is Shape, Pattern and Colour. We will be looking at shape and pattern in the environment and learning about hot and cold colours, autumn colours and mixing colours.
