Relationships and sex education

BHCC, in partnership with schools and colleagues in the Health and Community and Voluntary Sector has developed a Curriculum Framework for Relationships and Sex Education. This Curriculum Framework signposts schools to a range of resources and is continually being updated. Schools are invited to adapt this to meet the needs of pupils and to reflect the values and ethos of the school.
Further resource and booklists can be found in the Curriculum Planning folder.

Further materials, particularly those related to teaching and learning about gender stereotyping, family diversity and preventing and challenging homophobia, biphobia and transphobia can be found on the Equality and Diversity page.

Many of the resources contained on this page have been developed by PSHE teachers in Brighton & Hove. Please check that all nationally and locally developed materials used are in keeping with your school relationships and sex education policy. In best practice schools pupils, parents and carers and school staff would be involved in the development of the relationships and sex education policy. Visit the guidance and advice page for further support on this.
