Emotional and mental health and wellbeing

Please find the PSHE education curriculum framework for mental health and well-being linked to on the left of this page. This provides a range of resources that can be used to support this area of teaching.

The Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL) materials are still a useful resource for supporting the development of social and emotional skills and positive emotional health and well-being. The Brighton & Hove PSHE Education Programme of Study for Key Stages 1-4, 2014, includes reference to a range of learning objectives that can be delivered through the SEAL materials. The Behaviour & Attendance National Strategies SEAL materials can be found on the
TeachFind website.
In addition, many of the SEAL materials can be downloaded from the folders to the left of this page.

You will also find a range of materials developed in Brighton & Hove to support the development of Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning through whole class and small group work teaching. Resources include the transition resource Moving on 2. The letter-writing aspects of this resource are no longer promoted across BHCC, however many of the lessons described would still be supportive of pupils moving from Year 6 to 7.

In November 2016 new lesson plans for teaching and learning about loss were added to the loss and bereavement folder.
