Charity Appeals 2009/10

We have raised almost £1000 for a number of different charities since September 2009.

Sport Relief
A huge thank you to everyone for taking part in Sport Relief. Money is still coming in so we don't yet know our exact total but it is in excess of £100. Thank you to Mr Nick Baker (parent governor) for leading the warm up. Best wishes to Nick for his run in the London Marathon on Sunday. Look out for number 667.

Haiti Fundraising
Fantastic News - We raised £355.67
On Friday 22nd January we held a non-uniform day in aid of the UNICEF Haiti Appeal.
Haiti was hit by an earthquake. The quake, which registered 7.0 on the Richter scale, was centred about 14 miles south-west of the capital city, Port-au-Prince.

Children and adults have been killed and injured; many are in desperate need of clean water, shelter and medical help. Early reports indicate a large number of casualties and widespread damage. UNICEF supplies have been delivered by road to the affected areas, and more supplies are due to be delivered to the country in the next few days.

Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. UNICEF urgently needs funds to deliver essential emergency supplies such as access to shelter, safe water and basic health care.

Oxfam Unwrapped alternative gift catalog

Our Children's Christmas Appeal 2010 is supporting the Oxfam Unwrapped Appeal. We hope to raise enough funds to buy a goat for a family! Each child has to earn some money for the appeal by carrying out a job at home. In the past, children have helped by tidying bedrooms, others washed up or walked the dog.  Hopefully we will be able to raise more than last year's total of£85
