                             A STORY

A story is an imagined account of something that may or may not have actually happened.

It can be:

•    Written in the past or present tense.

•    Written in the first (I) or third (he/she/it) person.

Try to:

•    Plan your story using the 6 stages of a story.
Character
Setting
Fiction trigger
Development
Climax
Conclusion

•    Include plenty of description and imagery. Describe what you see, hear, feel, smell and taste etc.

•    Remember to use paragraphs correctly and set out speech properly. (A new paragraph is needed for New Time, New Topic, New Talker – remember the 3 N.T.’s!!)

•    Use a mixture of short and long sentences and keep to the basic rule of longer sentences for description, short sentences for action.
