Keeping Safe On The Internet
Being safe on the Internet is really important. You can stay safe and still have lots of fun finding out interesting things and playing games. Always be careful and follow the rules and if you aren't sure about something, ask an adult you trust for help.
-
Keep it to yourself! Never tell anyone on the Internet your full name, address, phone number, date of birth or email address.
-
Use a nickname! If you have to make a username to use a website always give yourself a nickname instead of using your real name.
-
Don't meet strangers! If you meet someone on the Internet you should never arrange to meet them. They might not be the person you think they are.
-
Careful with e-mails! If someone you don't know sends you an e-mail, don't open it. It could contain a virus or a picture you don't want to see. Delete it straight away.
-
Talk to an adult! If anything you see on the Internet worries you or makes you feel uncomfortable, talk to an adult you know well. They will help you.
