So, where did it all start?
Forest School actually originated from Sweden in the 1950's. Now, it has developed around the world, through Scandinavia and Europe. Forest School's idea came from Denmark, where it was aimed at pre-schools. Denmark has quite a similar climate to the UK and it is becoming more known for the outdoor approach to learning. People have experimented with children and found out that if you do attend Forest School, you are much less prone to becoming ill and being able to concentrate much better!!!
Forest School is basically an educational approach to learning but from a different point of view. The thinking behind Forest School is to encourage and inspire Reception, Year 1 and 2 through a positive, fun experience. It's a unique way of building independence and self belief.
