Dear Parents
Welcome back to the beginning of a new term and the start of 2013. On behalf of all at the school may I wish you a happy new year and look forward to working in partnership with you during the year.
Welcome
We would like to welcome our new School Business Manager Mr Patrick Mitchell to the school team and to our new nursery pupils and school starters to our school.
100% Attendance Terms 1 & 2
We had 62 children who had 100% attendance for Terms 1 & 2, well done.
Reminders
Access to building
To ensure the building is secure, children are kept safe and their learning is uninterrupted, we ask that all parents note the following:
Parents of children in years 1-6 – please do not enter the building before or after school. Teachers are available to meet with you informally after school in the playground or at the classroom doors (for years 1 and 2) every day. If you need to get a message to teachers in the morning, please do so through the school office.
Foundation Stage Parents – you are welcome to come into class for a short period of time in the morning to help your children settle. Please enter and leave by the Nursery/Reception entrance (rather than via the school office). Many thanks for your cooperation.
Sickness Bugs
Please note that the recommended period for your child to be kept off school if he/she has suffered from vomiting or diarrhoea is 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.
Contact Details
Please keep the school office up-to-date with all address and phone number changes. It is important that we can contact you in case of an emergency. Our texting service only works if you supply the correct numbers.
Parents’ Evening – Thursday 7th and Thursday 14th February
Parents’ Evening will take place on Thursday 7th and Thursday 14th February. Please make sure your return your reply slip and attend your appointment to find out about your child’s progress.
Parents of year 4 and 5 children: for both evenings we will be joined by representatives of WREN who will be looking for your support in setting a new local secondary free school.
Reception Diary Dates
Reception parents, please put the following dates in your diary, further information to follow
· Fairytale fancy dress day- Friday 15th February Stay and Play-
· Thursday 7th March and Friday 8th March. Parents can come which ever day they are free and it will be all morning from 8.40- 11.30 both days.
Helen House
Thank you to everyone who has donated to Helen House, the amount raised during the Christmas productions was £41.11.
Free School Meals
Renewal letters and forms for free school meals have been sent out. Please make sure you return these as soon as possible to enable you to continue with your entitlement. If you have not claimed for free school meals before and think you may be entitled please come into to the school office to enquire and collect a form.
Cleaner
Are you interested in becoming one of our school relief Cleaners. You will need to be available at short notice, often getting a phone call on that day and be able to cover cleaning duties from 3pm-5pm, the hourly rate is £7.64. Unfortunately no children are able to be on the school premises while cleaning takes place. Please contact the school office for an application.
Book Fair
The Book Fair will be at school again from Wednesday 6th February until Monday 11th February and during parents evening. Please come along and have a look and buy some books for your children.
