           Student Voice

Student Voice in Sixth Form is a highly valued, effective and enjoyable aspect of the student experience.

Students can be voted onto the Sixth Form Council by their form groups and have the opportunity to implement new ideas to enhance Sixth Form Life. The Sixth Form Council organises: how the common room runs, events for Raising and Giving Week (RAG Week), yearbooks and hoodies and much, much more. Head Boy and Head Girl work alongside the Council to represent the school at public events and make sure Sixth Formers’ opinions are heard.
Sixth Form Events
Students are able to set up their own committees to lead in the areas they feel are important. For example, there has traditionally been a Sixth Form Ball Committee and Live Lounge committee to organise and advertise these successful enjoyable events. Current students have plans to add in a Sport Committee and as well as keep up the good work students do throughout the year raising money for charities through dress up days and cake stalls.
Being in the Sixth Form at SJLHS is all about working hard and getting involved with lots of fun events. Student events create a brilliant atmosphere in the Sixth Form where a sense of community, support and enjoyment are felt by all.
There are so many events at SJL Sixth Form that are ‘by students for students’. Whether you want to join in with an established team or blaze the trail with a new idea; SJL Sixth Form is the place to go for it and put your ideas into practice. We are enormously proud of the fact that each year SJL Sixth Form students put new traditions in place and make our community a fantastic environment to learn in and grow as individuals. We would definitely encourage you to see for yourselves by attending SJL Open Evenings and/or giving us a ring to book a tour around the facilities and have a chat to current SJL Sixth Form students.
