All Year 10 students at Brookfield undertake a two-week work experience programme in June. Students can choose from a small list of approved employers arranged through school (advertised from November onwards) or can try to arrange their own two-week (or 2 x one-week) placement(s) if they prefer. Mrs Beards, the Work Experience Co-ordinator is on hand to help students find their ideal work experience placement.
Despite our best efforts, it is impossible to get enough employers to offer enough placements for all Year 10 students. Students who find their own placement tend to feel more relaxed and reassured before they start their work placement, as they have had greater involvement in the organisation and choosing.
Mrs Beards resides in the English Office. She is available to help students sort out their work experience placements every break and lunchtime except Friday Week 1 and Monday Week 2. You can also contact her directly on 01246 565827 to discuss any work experience matters.
